The rejuvenation is aimed to upgrade outdated or less efficient equipment to ensure smoother and more sustainable operations such as replacing or repairing existing electrical equipment.
Senior Manager Corporate Communication & Office Director, Gatra Vaganza, said it is hoped that this equipment rejuvenation can increase the reliability and safety of the electrical system at Buaran WTP, reduce the risk of disruption or damage that could hamper production, and increase production capacity.
DWP Perumda PAM Jaya Assists Stunting Handling in South Jakarta"PAM JAYA strives to increase the clean water production capacity at the Buaran WTP, so that it can meet the increasing clean water needs of the community," Gatra said, Sunday (6/2).
As for information, PAM JAYA carried out two main works, namely replacing coarse screens which were 32 years old and replacing fine screens which were 10 years old in the two raw water intake canals of the Buaran Water Treatment Plant which were carried out alternately 14 hours each to avoid total blackouts.
Apart from that, PAM Jaya also replaced the 20 kV incoming panels and 3.3 kV outgoing panels which were more than 15 years old, with some parts being outdated or discontinuous.
During the coarse and fine screen replacement work, he added, the water will continue to flow but the pressure will decrease.
"When replacing the coarse and fine screens, the canal conditions are dry so the raw water will decrease by around 1,100 liters per second. Screen installation is carried out alternately," he closed.
